Nick Massey-Chase leads the Firm’s Family Law team. He has dealt with family and matrimonial work throughout his career, since qualifying as a solicitor in 1975.
Having gained general litigation and criminal law experience alongside family law through the 70’s and 80’s, he has specialised almost exclusively in Family Law for the last fifteen years.
Nick’s Family Law practice covers all aspects of marriage and relationship breakdown. His acumen with figures enables him to deal with all types of financial, property and pension disputes, whilst his experience as a father (and re-married divorcee) gives him a genuine understanding of cases involving children.
Nick’s experience and expertise in Family Law is recognised by his advanced membership of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel. He is also a long standing member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitor’s Family Law Association), promoting a constructive and realistic way of resolving family problems, finding solutions that are reasonable to all.
At the end of 2006, Nick trained as a Collaborative Family Lawyer. This offers clients a new approach to resolving issues on breakdown, particularly the financial, property and pension aspects of divorce. If a couple choose Collaborative Lawyers, then they will commit not to go to Court to resolve their differences. Instead they will work through a series of meetings with their Lawyers to discuss and explore the best ways to resolve their problems in a fair and reasonable way in order to meet their individual needs.
