Fixed Fee Legal Advice
We are very aware that many people are concerned about the cost of obtaining legal advice. They are worried that consulting a solicitor may end up with receiving an invoice for payment for several hours of work that they had not realised they had committed to! Here at Brain Chase Coles, we try very hard to ensure that clients are kept fully informed of cost issues by providing terms of business and invoices at regular intervals. However, this does not always answer the problem of the cost of legal advice.
As the Legal Services Commission tightens the spending of public money on legal advice, more people are finding that they have too much income or capital to be entitled to public funding.
Often clients simply want a discussion and advice on a certain difficulty. They do not want or need more than information and guidance. A simple meeting with a reasonable, fixed cost associated is all that is required.
For the benefit of those people who fall into these “categories”, Brain Chase Coles is pleased to be able to offer a fixed fee for legal advice and information. The fee of £100 plus vat (total £117.00) includes:-
- up to one hour of consultation with a qualified lawyer specialising in the relevant area of law, and
- a follow up letter which confirms the key points of the advice and/or information given for future reference
The fee is payable on conclusion of the consultation by cash or cheque.
