The legal property experts from Brain Chase Coles solicitors attended the Kingfisher Shared Ownership roadshow today at the Red Lion Hotel, Basingstoke.

Kingfisher gave a presentation about their latest developments and the way that Shared Ownership enables buyers to get onto the property ladder. Representatives from legal firms and mortgage advisers in the area were on hand to give advice to the many members of the public who came along.

The Brain Chase Coles stand was very busy - a clear indication that there is great demand in Basingstoke for home ownership despite the recent gloomy forecasts for the property market this year. Many visitors particularly asked for more explanation about the issue of stamp duty, (which differs from a normal house purchase in that it is payable even in the £0-£125,000 house price band), and said they found the explanation fact sheet which Brain Chase had produced very helpful in clarifying the shared ownership purchase process.

Jonathan Coles, Partner and Head of the Property department, commented:

“This was a very well organised event and a great opportunity for us to offer our legal property advice to a wide range of customers.
We very much enjoyed attending and look forward to working with Kingfisher in the future.”
