Ongoing Parental Involvement

A long awaited change in the law was implemented on 22nd October 2014 to introduce into the Children Act a presumption that a child’s welfare will be furthered by the involvement of each of the child’s parents in his or her life (unless it can be shown that such involvement would not further the child’s welfare or if contact with the other parent would put the child at risk of suffering harm).
