The Housing Association Department combines the expertise of certain
members of both the Property Department and Litigation Department and
is headed by Jonathan Coles and Margaret Stevenson.
Housing Associations or high volume work to be done in accordance with
the method of work specified by the Housing Association.

Some examples of our work
- The firm has acted for about the last 18 years for the Downland Housing Group who have a substantial number of properties in this area in connection with their local housing stock.
- From April 1998 until March 2002 Brain Chase Coles acted for the Drum Housing Group based in Petersfield undertaking a considerable number of possession cases including nuisance cases, right to buy sales and other related property transactions.
- In early 2001 Brain Chase Coles tendered for and successfully obtained the work of the Sentinel Housing Group based in Basingstoke. The Sentinel Group comprises Oakfern Housing Association and Hart Housing Association and the firm undertakes a considerable amount of work on their behalf.
The firm is fully committed to the principle of social housing which fits consistently with our approach to legal services generally.
Brain Chase Coles' expertise in housing law is recognised by the grant of a Housing Franchise by the Legal Services Commission to the firm. The practice management and case handling standards required for such a franchise are high, to ensure a quality service.
