Due to the expansion of our busy Property team, a vacancy has now arisen for an experienced Assistant to support one of our Conveyancers.  The successful candidate will need to have a good working knowledge of Conveyancing and the ability to work well in a team.

Hours of work:    35 hours per week between 9am and 5pm

Requirements :

  • Conveyancing experience
  • Ability to handle pressure
  • Good organisational skills

Duties include: 

  • Giving quotes of costs to clients using our case management package and taking instructions
  • Preparing the contract pack of documents and enclosures
  • Drafting basic correspondence when necessary
  • Ordering Searches from our search provider’s portal
  • Client point of contact in fee earner’s absence, giving information and updates
  • Exchanging contracts, giving and taking releases, dealing with exchange formalities
  • Preparing files for completion.  Checking which documents are needed and ordering pre-completion searches, drafting completion statements and ordering monies from lenders
  • Completion day formalities and letters
  • Completing SDLT Returns online and paying tax due on time
  • Drafting and Submitting AP1 applications and dealing with registrations on the Land Registry Portal
  • Liaising with clients, agents, brokers, lenders and solicitors when necessary
